Why did they remake Broly?

I’ll be answering why Broly was remade.

Started from the bottom now we’re here!

Broly first being introduced in the movies painted him out as a villain that seemed nearly unstoppable.

I mean he had Vegeta way too scared to even want to attempt fighting him.

The legendary super Saiyan apparently needed a remake and we’re gonna look at why it was done.

Here we go.

Why did they remake Broly

There was a couple ways I could’ve went about answering this. The obvious answer is to make him canon as fan service, but to also get to the heart of why he was remade you have to look at the differences and determine if that was fair to call them improvements.

My take on the remake

Ultimately I’d say that remaking Broly from the DBZ non canon version we got that extended from 3 movies was a good idea because of the potential having him join the Saiyans could bring.

When you look at where the Saiyans are at there’s only a scarce amount and having Broly be an evil Saiyan essentially in Z was putting the fighters against someone who should’ve been an ally from the start.

At least in Super it allowed him to have a redemption potential that goes on to be transformed into another sparring partner for Goku and Vegeta.

You look at how there was a tournament of power, Broly could’ve been helpful would’ve been an understatement.

But the point is it allows him to be another addition to the team that almost gives them an Avengers-like presence when it comes to universal or galaxy level threats in the future.
