I’ll be answering why hard work’s important for success.
For me personally it makes me feel fulfilled in the same way you would after doing something macho.
One activity that specifically gave me this feeling was getting my hand raised in wrestling.
Whether it was a practice or winning in competition I reflected on the hard work it took to get through it.
But for the sake of this question in the immediate moment it gives you immediate satisfaction in realizing that you did something most couldn’t.
You compound those moments and you’ll have a successful life.
That’s my pre researched belief on how things work, but let’s move on.
Why is hard work important for success
Hard work’s important when it comes to success because it takes reflection of these qualities and skills:
- Self disciplined
- Commitment
- Dependability
- Attentiveness
- Responsibility
- Problem solving
- Self control
- Sustained critical thinking
- Determination
Discipline
I came across an article by Brian Tracy that claims discipline is important for success because it puts you on the fast track to accomplishing your goals.
Overall discipline helps you to build a positive attitude towards everything.
Through a philosophical lens it helps train a person’s mind and character.
What that does is lead to a sense of control and ability to practice obedience.
Because order is necessary for any effective system it should be understood that it provides the rules to live life effectively and efficiently.
One of the best analogies I’ve heard about discipline is that it turns daydreams to realities.
It’s more than a moral value since this quality in particular is needed for success anywhere in life.
Resilience
I say sustained critical thinking above because I thought that was an easier way to put it than using resiliency.
If you break it down, sustained critical thinking is using your smarts until you achieve a goal, usually in response to a problem.
How you respond and the results achieve determines the level of what’s considered resilient.
Determination
After checking out an article from waldenu.edu they put it simple in that this quality helps overcome failure.
Conclusion
Let’s review the points again and turn them into action steps:
- Exercise discipline from time to time
- Continued action leads to resiliency
- Being determined through sustained thought helps see things through
These points can be applied to anything that serves others.
Things don’t necessarily have to be hard or even take much effort but these qualities are universal in nature.
