Was the Cell Saga supposed to be the end? (Answered)

I’ll be answering if the Cell Saga was supposed to be the end of Dragon Ball Z.

This was a debatable myth that was supposedly debunked but as you should know it’s all fan fare.

For many fans it was looked at as the perfect ending to Dragon Ball Z but also had the overall quality of the show watered down when it continued.

We got some of the most iconic moments that even led to some of the coolest merch the show’s ever seen:

I’ve even heard that DBZ could’ve ended after the Frieza Saga on Planet Namek, but let’s keep it on the Cell Games.

Was the Cell Saga supposed to be the end

There’s been a mixed selection of takes when it comes to the Cell Saga. There’s claims that it was always meant to be the ending to DBZ. I’ve heard that it could’ve ended there but was best that it continued into the Majin Saga. Another’s that it was never meant to end there and even that it was supposed to be finished by the end of the Frieza Saga.

According to Screen Rant they say that Cell Games was meant to be Toriyama’s final ending to DBZ.

Majin Saga made things better

CBR says that it could’ve ended with Cell Games but actually did better continuing on into the Majin Saga.

Could it have ended with Frieza and Planet Namek

Quora puts a little of a spin on the topic with a familiar question involving if the manga and anime were supposed to end the way they did at the conclusion of the Cell Games, matter of fact a user challenges the thought of the ending supposed to happen following the Frieza Saga.
