Why Do Olympians Get Olympic Tattoos? (Explained)

I’ll be explaining why Olympians get tattoos.

I’ve never made the games to date but I’ve been actively pursuing them since 2012.

Wrestling was the sport that helped me think I could make it one day.

But as you follow one sport that’s Olympic level you’ll eventually get familiar with others.

From there you’ll see different things they have in common.

Today we’re gonna look at the tattoos they get and see why they get a specific look.

Why Do Olympians Get Olympic Tattoos?

Doesn’t matter if it’s small or large. The Olympic rings symbolize a reminder of the hard work and success Olympians put into their craft.

What Makes Size Irrelevant?

Good things come in all shapes and sizes.

The same applies to logos that praise the above average athlete who gets the privilege to compete in the Olympics.

It doesn’t matter if it’s something that could be seen away from a distance or it’s the size that could only be seen after you point it out.

If you compare the amount of Olympians there ever were to average citizens that walk the earth you’ll find a tremendous difference.

But how much though?

In theory it’s enough to have its own planet.

That might sound like a tremendous difference and that’s because it is.

When you have that much variety it creates a rarity like none other.

The Olympics come only once every 4 years and it could be argued to have the most impact on politics globally.

It’s enjoyable because it’s the gathering of the entire world that have hundreds of athletes showing off the things that make them unique.

I can’t talk to every Olympian and ask them why they choose the size of their tattoo but having a couple of my own helps understand.

A tattoo is meant to express your creativity but everyone to different lengths to express it.

Some might be more shy with displaying their body art but having the right to explain why you got an Olympic tattoo is exclusive.

The right and having a story behind why you have Olympic rings tattooed is special.

Hats off to you if you get the decision and honor to explain the meaning behind your Olympic tattoo.

What Does Hard Work Do?

  • Teaches determination
  • attentiveness
  • responsibility
  • problem-solving
  • self-control

Seeing Success as an Athlete

Defining success as an athlete is completely up to you if you’re someone that competes.

There’s many things that athletes do to expect success:

  • control their goals
  • Monitor nutrition
  • Strengthen their mentality
  • Work on their ability to cooperate

And my personal favorite’s controlling the effort they give.

Final thoughts

Here’s why Olympians get tattoos of the Olympic rings again.

It symbolizes the hard work and success they had to see in order to even make it to the games.
