I’ll be explaining why anime characters say their attacks.
It’s something that happens very often in the anime that was mentioned in the most recently related post I dropped.
You might’ve heard of characters in dragon ball Z that used one of the most common attacks called the Kamehameha.
It’s only one example of many that’s used in multiple shows.
It’s funny when reflecting about anime compared to regular cartoons because you hardly hear about characters that have attack moves in those type of shows that’s repeatedly use and repeated every time it’s done .
Why do anime characters say their attacks
Universally speaking when anime characters yell out their attacks it can be looked at as more of a battle cry, however from a 4th walk perspective it let’s the viewers know what’s going on when a fight’s going down in the show.
Let’s viewers know what’s going on

Very often and anime there are battle scenes that include power ups, and attacks that are labeled with a name.
There’s a bunch of names that are iconic in the series that are widely known when they’re sad.
One of the most popular is the Kamehameha from Dragon Ball Z, another is shadow clone jutsu, or even in Yu Yu hakusho where Yusuke‘s move of choice is the spirit gun.
In these shows there’s often battle scenes where there’s a lot going on and saying what move is being done helps the watcher understand what is happening in the middle of the scene.
Naruto
I’ve mentioned it before but Naruto is a show that notorious for using names with moves that‘s iconic to the series.
A few of the names you may recognize are:
• Shadow Clone Jutsu
• Rasengan
• Chidori
• Substitution Jutsu
There’s more but those are the most recognized.
The moves transitioned well into the other supporting franchises that were spawned from the original, Shippuden and Boruto.
Watch closely next time you watch an anime in which fighting scenes are scattered throughout and the fighters have moves that can only be thought of with the imagination.
My hero academia
My hero academia is an anime that I’m a little less familiar with but it’s still popular regardless.
I can tell you about Midoria (the main character).
To give you a basic breakdown of what the show’s about mainly is that there’s a world of heroes that have powers which are called quirks and Midoria inherits powers from one of the most famous heroes in the world.
The main move that he gets that’s also shouted throughout the fight scenes when he’s battling is called one-for-all.
Yeah, the name can be confusing but it’s most simply put as a super boost for a very powerful punch that Midoria uses every time he fights an opponent.
Conclusion
Let’s sum up everything that we learned in this post.
Anime characters say their moves to act as a courtesy for anyone who’s been watching and wants to know what’s going on.
We’ve seen it in the likes of shows such as Naruto and My Hero Academia.
There’s plenty of other shows that have iconic phrases that’s yelled when the fighter of the show hits their signature move.
Again, anything you pick as far as action packed anime keeps these little tropes present in their production.
It’s actually a very identifiable trait to communicate what you’re watching is indeed in fact an anime.
