What TV shows did you watch as a kid?
TV Shows
My tv shows as a kid were FIRE:
- Ed edd n eddy
- Grim adventures of Billy and Mandy
- Code name kids next door
- Proud family
- American Dragon Jake Long
This is a very basic list but it’s some of the first that come to mind when I reflect on the shows I really watched.
Ed Edd n’ Eddy

I watched ed edd n eddy since the beginning of Cartoon Network’s 90’s original show run that went well into the mid 2000s.
Now I never played their video games but I feel qualified well enough to have a thorough discussion about the show and it’s characters.
It takes place in a fictional area and has a refreshingly fun selection of episodes.
The majority of the pictures center around the execution of a sham most of the time involving the main characters, Ed, Edd and Eddy.
I’ve been watching this for years and will find myself watching a few of the episodes again at times.
There’s a chance that I could catch it on a network that’s showing it sometime.
It’s been dormant for a while but I still think have great replay value.
I always liked this show for its humorous settings that showed business minded kids doing what comes to mind for money.
The usual goal for all 3 of the scam artists as they’re portrayed in the show is generally for jawbreakers even though they naturally gravitate to each other well.
Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy

My next show is the grim adventures of Billy and Mandy.
There’s previous posts that I’ve made on this show.
Why was the grim adventures of Billy and Mandy cancelled?
Why is the grim reaper with Billy and Mandy?
It includes the story of 2 friends that are neighbors who finds companionship with the grim reaper himself.
It was fun to watch because it had a lot of obviously funny moments admittedly in a very mature presentation but I appreciated it.
A few of the characters that come to mind when thinking about this show compliment the dynamic of what the skewed stories the creators were trying to tell with each episode that was released.
It was going strong for a few years until it was finally dropped from cartoon network’s regular schedule.
Codename Kids Next Door

My continued Cartoon Network suggestion is kids next door.
I remember this show during my elementary school years.
There was something cool about a kid having access to a headquarters with tools and friends that come together for a mission.
There were 5 members that made up the club and it would go on to have depth that shows just how big of a club the kids next door had.
As I’m writing this it actually compares well to the Power Rangers because of how important each member was to the group.
They (The Kids Next Door) even had access to large robotic machines that are very similar in nature to what the rangers used with their zoids.
American dragon Jake long

My next show is a Disney channel exclusive.
This show has one of the least successful runs compared to the other shows on the list.
I guess you can say it was a show that just grew on me when I would find myself with more downtime.
I never really put too much thought into it when finding out why I watched it.
This was a time when there were a lot of new shows being introduced to to Disney and other animated networks in general.
But back to the show.
It includes the story of a high schooler named Jake Long who discovers he has the power to transform into a dragon and uses it to save the day most often.
Proud Family

The proud family is an instant classic for me in black media entertainment.
It’s a animated sitcom about a girl, penny proud who deals with lessons learned in a life she shares with her family and friends.
I liked the fact it had proper black representation that can easily be applied to any area.
They actually have a broad audience that’s continued to grow even during the hiatus that the show took after making a movie in the mid 2000s.
It’s had multiple guest appearances that easily could remind you of any sitcom that you would watch in where they have a guest to help make it a special episode.
Conclusion

Let’s review the shows I mentioned again:
- Ed edd n eddy
- Grim adventures of Billy and Mandy
- Code name kids next door
- Proud family
- American Dragon Jake Long
There’s still plenty more shows that I would love to share, another that I planned on adding was Static Shock, Sonic X, and there’s others to mention but I was trying to start somewhere.
There’s been older posts that I’ve made on anime shows that were also a good chunk of my time when it came to entertainment.
I also have an anime section if you wanted to find a few more tv shows that were fun watching as a kid.
That was a hobby of mine that translated into myself finally discussing the shows that I mostly supported as a kid.
Even making this post is a blessing because it shows how there’s so many ways to hold on to some of the things you grew up with.
Some of these shows were fun to enjoy with my friends and it would mostly get supported with a watch of the latest movie or video game.
