It’s fun to the hardcore fans but is it fun enough for the casual fan to enjoy as well?
We’re gonna look at what makes it popular and if it’s worth giving a watch if you’ve never seen it before.

Is Dragonball Worth Watching?
Yes, the order you’re going to want to watch it is DragonBall, DBZ, Kai, GT and Super.
It has a combination of entertaining moments that most could find a way to relate to.
Watching the show is a full on commitment since the sagas can get to be lengthy. And although GT isn’t canon it’s still entertaining enough and follows past rules to tell a new story with different characters.
Super seems to have a little more criticism as it’s still in development but it’s still worth watching.

Those reasons alone should be enough motivation for anyone who’s familiar with any of those words to wanna watch.
Is watching DragonBall a commitment?
Is Dragon ball gt Worth Watching
It’s said that it’s not worth watching but this is an area that I’m going to argue some pushback on when we really choose to look at it.
DragonBall GT had moments never seen before in the series that could be attributed to the Concepts, Setting/Stakes, Characters, and Top Tier Villains.
Although this is the non-canon series that the original creator had nothing to do with it still led to some of the most entertaining moments in the history of DragonBall.
Is Dragon Ball Super Worth Watching
The general thought shared about super is that it’s sub par with z in terms of story and better than GT as a whole.
Some of the most important things that happened as far as true storytelling ended up occurring at this point of the series.
But why do some people think super is bad?
DragonBall is considered to be one of the best for numerous reasons:
- ability to consistently make great video games, spin-offs and other items that compliment the show
- New content is consistently made
- The manga and anime provide slightly different experiences for consumers
- The characters have some of the best development that ever happens in the genre
- It has some of the best fights that ever happen in anime
It’s inspired some of the best shonen jump animes making it undeniably in the discussion when talking about the greatest.
I’ll explain it further on why DragonBall is so popular.
The Merch
DragonBall has gone on to produce highly popular video games, movies, collectibles and manga that helps cement its case for greatest anime ever.
Some of the most popular games they produced was the Budokai and Tenkaichi series.
Some of the most popular movies in DragonBall that’s had success in Box Offices are DragonBall Super Broly and Super SuperHero.

From the FunkoPops to even still action figures DragonBall has merchandise that sells in different ways for their fans.
If you can think of a product you can almost guarantee that there’s a product with a DragonBall theme available to be bought.
That type of popularity is a high level of accomplishment.
Is Dragon Ball Z Worth Watching
According to Reddit if you’re going to choose any of the series to watch that Z is by far the best.
It’s agreed that all of the action that happened in Z was some of the most awe invoking moments in the history of the show.
Some fans even suggest the follow up in in DragonBall Z Kai because it has less filler than the original.
There’s been major moments that contribute to the entire history of DragonBall history that’s happened in Z.
It has the most iconic moments from introducing super Saiyan 2, 3, fusion and even more.
Z introduces more transformations and major villains than ever up to that point.
Is Dragon ball z Kai Better
Other than the previously mentioned praise for less fillers in DBZ Kai, are there other things that make it so well received?
You bet, it had a noticeable improvement in numerous areas:
- Better voices
- Acting
- Bigger budget
- Modern Way of watching
- Visually appealing
why do some think dragonball super is bad
There’s been some fans that think the animation is mediocre and the characters act a little too silly for their liking.
Conclusion
DragonBall is without a doubt an interesting show with supporting shows that take it to even greater heights after you get into it.
Remember there’s:
- DBZ
- DBZ Kai
- GT
- Super
Once you get into the show you’re going to be interested enough to watch the others. Everything’s considered canon except GT.
