I’ll be answering why Gogeta’s a super Saiyan.

The combined form of Goku and Vegeta.

Without a doubt one of the strongest in the entire dragonball universe.

Let’s take a deeper look into the question.

Why Is Gogeta a Super Saiyan?

Goku is a part of a fallen Saiyan race. He reaches a power known as Super Saiyan eventually in DBZ. Vegeta is another widely claimed prince of all Saiyans that reaches this power too shortly after Goku.

Because they can both turn super Saiyan when they perform fusion it allows Gogeta to be as well.

Goku’s Saiyan heritage

Goku is one of the last survivors of an alien Saiyan race.

He was sent to earth and launched the story known as DragonBall.

Although that’s a developed detail in the original story it’s an immediate point addressed in DBZ.

He rejects it when he meets others that push the story forward.

This point of time is actually when we’re also introduced to Vegeta who claims to be the prince of all Saiyans.

The prince of all Saiyans

Vegeta is the warrior introduced midway in the Saiyan Saga.

He’s claimed to be the prince of all Saiyans.

He invades earth and has an epic battle with Goku in where his life gets spared.

Neither warrior reached super saiyan but they’re the only two Saiyan warriors left at this time.

There comes a threat eventually that threatens the destruction of another planet called Namek.

Eventually it leads to a fight that births our first Super Saiyan of the two with Goku.

After Goku reached it Vegeta did after.

Gogeta

This fusion’s the result of Goku and Vegeta doing the Metamoran fusion dance in order to join bodies.

What this does is create an even more powerful fighter than both of them if they were to fight separately.

He’s first introduced in Fusion Reborn the movie and finally becomes canon in Broly: Super.

Final Thoughts

In an extended explanation of Gogeta as a whole, he is indeed a super Saiyan being the combination of 2 super Saiyans already.

His power’s without a doubt one of the strongest in the entire DragonBall series.

It’s only until the DragonBall Super Broly movie where he’s finally made canon.

Hopefully there’s more we’ll see from him in the future but only time will tell.
