I wanna know what you pick between freestyle and folkstyle wrestling? I like both by the way.
We’re in a culture where there can only be one though.
I get it and that’s why I’m counting on some engagement to interesting discussions hopefully.
Folkstyle vs Freestyle
The main question that has to be asked when determining your preference can vary.
As an athlete you eventually ask yourself if you’re trying to compete in Olympic Wrestling.
It’s how far you wanna go and if you don’t care about it then folkstyle stands a chance.
Things are only getting more competitive as this debate goes on as RAF is making a rise too.
I could easily see why freestyle would be considered the better of the two.
You know the saying “the more the merrier”? Well it applies in this scenario.
You’re comparing a sport that practiced globally to one that’s only regional in the U.S.
It’s best that a majority of my breakdown is 70% informative and 30 emotional.
I’ll feel my way about them but it’s tough to be definitive when they’re both developing.
What do you think though?
Final Thoughts
So freestyle extends past the U.S. and that alone makes the competition bigger than only competing in folkstyle.
They’re both incredibly difficult to be considered a great in them but at the same time it’s worth learning both.
I’ll also add the fact that most folkstyle wrestlers who are good have a background in freestyle which could be said makes them highly competitive.
