I’ll be sharing my review on the book called Outlive: The Science & art of longevity.
This is a book written by M.D. Peter Attia and Bill Gifford.
The idea that inspired this review was through a desire to share some literature that may help the next person who finds this blog.
I’ve been making adjustments to a few of my health habits lately (some of which include my diet) and I wanted to help get you started as well.
Without further ado, let’s move on to the book.
Outlive
Outlive: The Science & Art of Longevity is a book that you should know about! It cuts out the fluff of practicing wrong habits given by fake functional doctors. It touches on Keto diets and puts to rest some of the outlandish claims from others who claim it can cure cancers. I’d recommend it for anyone below the senior citizen range. The rules change for them.
What does a functional doctor do?
You may be considering following a random YouTuber or marketing “guru” that claims to have the answers for achieving peak health.
They practice holistic remedies that are meant to cure different diseases and such.
It’s actually very common for people to discover these medical enthusiasts well into the point where they already have an ailment.
There’s a lot out there, and there are some good doctors when it comes to natural cures, but Peter Attia for sure knows his stuff when it comes to this.
They’re recognized as a professional career, however, there are phonies that share bad/wrong information.
That’s why it’s important to do your research on the different products you’re shown and see if they’re approved by health experts.
How long can you stay in ketosis safely?
You may be shocked to discover that a keto diet should only be followed for a certain amount of time.
According to Perfect Keto they claim it takes around 2-3 days before you reach the state of ketosis.
The max that you should stay on keto for is generally 6 months.
An ideal amount of time would be 3 months to see the full effects.
Ketosis is a state that you put your body in (when trying) to convert fat into energy instead of using your glucose naturally.
This is an ideal state because it’s considered a highly effective way to lose weight.

How often should seniors go to the doctor?
Senior citizens are typically advised to see a doctor at least once a year.
Because we’re as young as we’re ever gonna be each day, it felt appropriate to put attention on ways that the elderly can take better care of themself.
These checkups can (and should) be centered around monitoring any potential problems you’re dealing with already and update vaccinations.
I mentioned before how all of the material in the book seems to be best for everybody under 50, but when you hit 70 it might even be wiser to bump up your visits to twice a year.
Another sign that you may want to schedule doctor visits into your routine is if you’re already taking multiple medication.
Final Thoughts
The goal of this book is to help you in deciding preventative measures that can help you achieve and maintain good health without much use of medicine.
I understand that it’s common to have numerous people at different stages in terms of their health.
This book though, it speaks for itself in terms of how highly positive it’s rated on respected platforms (such as Amazon).
