I’ll be explaining why black tea is called red tea in Chinese.

What they do have in common though is the title of a true tea.
A true tea is made from the leaves of a plant called Camellia sinensis.

The 2 main differences between oolong and black tea is the materials used to make them and the way they’re produced.
Oolong tea leaves are curly and have a distinct green color, while the black tea leaves are much darker with a more refined texture.
Is Earl Gray a black tea?
Earl Gray is indeed a type of black tea.
Specifically it’s a British tea that’s mixed with citrus flavors.

It’s contents are flavored from oils of bergamot; the same oil that’s used in black tea.
As far as its rankings when compared to other popular tea brands it’s actually the most.
It’s common to even mix it with Sri Lankan Ceylon or Indian Assam.
Although the black tea is standard to be used when making Earl Grey, it’s also made with oolong and green tea at times.
