Yes, he actually meets his dad. Although most of his identity is a mystery to everybody that followed the story, we do get more of an idea as to who he is in the Chairman Election Arc. You would think everything ends after they meet. And it does, but there’s still other goals that Gon wants to reach, for example, getting that rematch with Hisoka could very well happen.
