Why is Jason Voorhees afraid of water?

It’s because he drowned in it but ultimately it’s a blend of emotional struggles. There’s social pressure that he feels obligated to act on due to the past. And because of that it’s actually helped shape his identity. There’s issues symbolically that bring out PTSD in him relating to survival and loss.
