I’ll be sharing why I think Yu Yu Hakusho’s worth watching.

Yu Yu Hakusho is one of several popular anime that’s been around since the 90s.

It features a selection of characters that gives the show more depth and meaning as it continues, but let’s look further into it.

Is Yu Yu Hakusho Worth Watching?

Yes it’s worth watching. I came across it on Adult Swim when they were notorious for showing a bunch of weird shows, but this was one of the few I liked. This show helped me find Hunter x Hunter. Because they’re made by the same author they’re often debated as which is better. Regardless, Yu Yu Hakusho has one of the greatest arcs in all of anime, solidifying it’s case.

Why Is Adult Swim So Weird

They’re a network that played shows in a sequence that simulate the growing up experience.

The range of depth they had in terms of emotions was present.

They had shows with humor, violence, joy, dark themes and more.

They had a lineup of shows that escalated adult situations as the night went on.

One of their underrated lineup of shows included the anime genre.

They had an extensive list that included Inuyasha, Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist, Bleach, Yu Yu Hakusho and many others.

It was weird to experience at the time because we were getting so many different shows with different stories, but that’s what made it great.

We had more than 1 show that we could get behind and enjoy with our friends.

I guess you could call it the blessing in disguise.

There’s really not a right answer when answering this question.

They both are great anime with even better characters that help push the show forward.

Yu Yu hakusho has exceptional character development and great fights which helped its popularity.

Hunter x Hunter does too, but you can say it’s a little more refined in having more of the things that made Yu Yu Hakusho great in it.

They are made by the same creator so it’s easy to see why someone would like both.

What Are The Best Arcs In Anime?

With the long history of great anime shows, there’s been plenty of amazing arcs that the genre brought to its fans.

We’ve seen this from the likes of the Chunin Exams in Naruto, Cell Saga in DBZ, and even the Chimera Ant Arc in Hunter x Hunter.

Yu Yu Hakusho earned the talk of being one of those moments when reaching the Dark Tournament.

There’s so many anime that’s impacted it’s fans to where if you looked up a most impactful arc list, you’ll most likely get a different list each time.

But seeing Yu Yu Hakusho’s name thrown in constantly with specific reference to this arc makes it that much more iconic.

There’s plenty of fights, turn of events and character growth in this arc.

It must be a prerequisite to make the list because everything else that’s mentioned as far as lasting arcs have the same things in common.

Final Thoughts

To make this perfectly clear, yes, Yu Yu Hakusho is definitely worth watching.

It’s a great show with plenty to offer.

I was lucky enough to discover it from Adult Swim and ran with it since.

It stood as a good reminder of what makes the entire genre so good, and from there brought me another great show in Hunter x Hunter.

Because of how great the show is, it’s even earned its spot as having one of the best arcs in anime.
