I’m taking a moment to address the relationship of Goku and ChiChi.
They’re married.
That’s essentially the happily ever after for her and it was set up to be that way since the OG Dragon Ball days.
Their engagement dates back to when they were only kids and the cuteness comes from it not being an arranged marriage.
The union was made through a shared interest in martial arts.
Today we’re gonna look at why Goku is afraid of ChiChi.
They first meet in DragonBall and are seen together up until super.
She’s a force woman that gave birth to their 2 sons and both come from a fighting background.
Let’s find out exactly what makes this woman so scary, at least to Goku.
Why is Goku Afraid of Chi Chi?
It’s highly likely that it’s simply writing that reflects the idea of men being afraid of an unhappy wife.
Chi chi has a fighting background in martial arts that would be considered impressive to anyone that fights.
She looks less soft of a woman as compared to Bulma as well which could make a difference.
Why are men supposed to be scared of their wives?
Quora contributes to the challenging question of men being scared of their wives by instead plugging them in as girlfriends.
If we bring it back to DragonBall Goku and ChiChi never officially dated but they knew they were going to get married.
If we break it down to a real world example it would be a scenario where the husband is scared their wives may take a majority of their earnings in a divorce.
It’s a sketchy conclusion to draw if you want to say that Chi Chi makes Goku scared that she’ll take all of his wealth if they were to split.
This dynamic is something that’s a real scenario for some people in reality though.
Her fighting background
Chi chi is also known to be fearless despite whatever type of threat is in her way.
She’s had moments in the series where she either completely disregarded danger or faced it head on.
One notable thing she did that proved her fearlessness was to step up to the likes of Super Buu, even when it was clear to the rest of the Z fighters how much of a threat he was to the planet.
She could threaten to starve him
To have a little fun with how much of a threat ChiChi could be to Goku is to do something as wicked as to starve him.
Why would that be a reason Goku could be scared of her you may ask?
Simple, he loves food!
It’s either training or eating when it comes to Goku and Chi Chi is a big help for preparing meals and keeping Gohan in his studies.
I mean that’s why Gohan had to miss out on a majority of the Android Saga in Dragon Ball Z,
Either way, she’s still someone who undeniably has an influential presence that’s scary enough to keep Goku on her good side.
