What were the biggest flexes that could be remembered in the Hunter x Hunter series? (Answered)

Today I’ll be answering what were the biggest flexes that could be remembered, in the Hunter x Hunter series.

Warning: there will be some spoilers for you newbies that are just now making it to the series.

What were the biggest flexes that could be remembered in the Hunter x Hunter series?

Mereum, the chimera ant king walks right past Netero and Zeno. There’s also the moment when Hisoka predicted how Kastro would die in the Heaven’s Arena arc. That, and when Killua allowed himself to be “caught.” Killua also has another moment earlier in the series in which he rips out the heart of an opponent, just to give it back to him. And finally, when Pariston wins the election just to give the position away.

Mereum’s Moments

For those unaware of who I’m talking about here, this is actually one of the last main antagonists of the series before it ends.

Mereum was a threat that called for all of the greatest hunters available.

Mereum Walks Past Netero And Zeno

When wars were breaking out at this point in the arc, Mereum is portrayed as one of the strongest nen users alive.

His power was so great that it appeared to need the likes of Netero (the chairman of the Hunter Assocation) and professional assassin Zeno.

There was a plan and everything involved in how to prepare for Mereum.

Once the 2 reach Mereum, he’s shown to be in a state that was nonchalant, so much so that he casually walks right past the two after being confronted.

It’s up for debate as to where the flex comes in for fans, but I’ll say that it’s because he was prepared for anything that was going to go down.

All 3 of them were able to sense how strong they were, but clearly Mereum must’ve felt completely superior without even caring to put his back to both of them.

Killua’s Moments

Killua is one of the main characters in Hunter x Hunter and has a few moments that show how cool (and effortless) things come to him.

Chimera Ant Arc Killua

Did you know that Killua stood on top of a horse that was galloping at full speed?

This is a huge flex because it takes a tremendous amount of calmness, balance and focus to stay still on top of a horse.

The quality that stands out the most with an action like this is probably confidence (because one sense of doubt and you’re going down).

It’s definitely one of Killua’s subtly cool moments in the series.

Killua also has another moment where he appeared to be outmatched, and was taunted by an opponent to go into a trap.

“What does he do” you may ask.

Simple, he immediately follows the threat into the spot he was lured to just in order to kill him.

It might sound pretty regular for a shonen jump action sequence, but the moment you first experience it can be awe provoking.

Hunter Exam – Take One (For Killua)

Killua also has a moment much earlier in the series when first taking the hunter exam that was a huge flex.

Killua rips a prisoner’s heart out

At this point, Killua, Gon, Kurapika, Leorio and Tonpa had a challenge to defeat a group of prisoners before advancing in the hunter exam.

Can you imagine how fast and deadly you have to be in order to take an appendage from someone before they even notice?

It was definitely one of Killua’s best moments of all time.

Hisoka’s Highlights

Hisoka is an extremely powerful nen user that strings along the series throughout its entirety.

Here’s a couple moments that he had.

Predicting Kastro’s Death

In the Heaven’s Arena Arc Hisoka joins the picture and is progressing throughout the tournament.

He eventually runs into a challenger called Kastro and predicts the exact way that he would die.

To add more into Hisoka’s situation with this fight, he also uses his severed arm for a card trick that [you guessed it] ends his life.

Nen Blocker

Hisoka’s power was demonstrated again as a flex within the same arc by revealing a nen power so strong it literally blocked Gon and Killua from moving forward.

This was a point in when both of them were still learning nen and learned the fact that there’s levels to the power they had.

It was a flex for Hisoka because this type of force wasn’t shown until then (by having a power so great it physically stops you in your tracks).

Kurapika vs Ovogin

Kurapika vs the phantom troupe will always be one of the best things about Hunter x Hunter.

He has a personal vendetta against this group for slaughtering his clan.

For that, he wants to kill them.

Killua vs Youpi

Killua is a big fan favorite of the series, and it was clear early on in the show.

Adult Gon vs Pitou

Hisoka blocking the entrance

Hisoka predicts Kastro’s death

If you made it to the heaven’s arena arc then you probably remember seeing Hisoka.

He was actively making his way up the ranks and finally found some competition in going against Kastro.

He appeared to have Hisoka’s number until things shifted.

  • Killua knows it’s a trap
  • Killua stole his heart
  • Pariston’s the winner

Final Thoughts

These are the biggest flexes in the Hunter x Hunter series that I’m bringing to the table.

Let’s recap.

Mereum walks right past Netero and Zeno.

Hisoka predicts how Kastro would die in the middle of the fight.

Killua allows himself to get caught just to kill his enemy.

Again, Killua flexes on his opponent by ripping his heart out, and gives him the heart back in his hand.

And lastly Pariston wins the chairman election just to give the position to someone else.
